I had a soft shift with a '94 5.9 Ram.I took it to a dealership and asked if they could firm the shifts up.Kick-down and line pressure were ajusted and it made a BIG difference(barks tires on upshift).I traded my Ram on a 2000 R/T Dakota and i'm going thru a whole set of different shifting problems(computer controlled) the dealer and CHRYSLER don't want address at this time.Should have kept the Ram!

HEY THERE!!! YES YOU DEFINATELY WOULD WANT A SHIFT KIT. I JUST DID ONE IN MY SUPERCHARGED V-10 A FEW DAYS AGO. I WENT FOR THAT ALL OUT HOT ROD AFFECT. IT'S EXCELLENT!!! I BOUGHT MY KIT FROM TRANSGO. THEY BEEN ON THE MARKET FOR QUITE A LONG TIME AND REPUTABLE. WWW.TRANSGO.COM FOR MORE INFO.
IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO INSTALL IF YOU'RE MECHANICALLY INCLINED AND PATIENT. THE KIT CAN ALSO BE ALTERED FOR WHAT YOUR SPECIFIC NEED IS. IT ALSO COMES WITH A DETAILED VIDEO AND GREAT TECH SUPPORT IF NEEDED. GOOD LUCK!!

Kenne Bell also makes a "Wide Range" shift upgrade kit - (not to soft and not too harsh) firm crisp shifts at WOT but soft shifts during normal driving.

It improves acceleration and minimizes clutch slippage and heat build up.

Just offering another option.
