Has any one had any type of internal sutomatic transmission performance improvements done??? I am looking to get rid of that sloppy/saggy factory shift and raise the shift point a few hundred rpm without going with a computer chip/module. I am just starting my research on this and would welcome any information out there.
Thanks

I haven't done it, but TRANSGO makes a shift kit that will chirp the tires and give you neck snapping shift !!!

I've heard alot of good things about Transgo. I am expecting delivery on my kit 12/29, then will proceed to install it on my totally tricked out V-10. It's a relatively cheap mod for the tranny and you don't even have to drop the tranny to put it in. I'll let everyone know how it works out!!

WELL, I PUT IN THE TRANSGO KIT A FEW DAYS AGO. IT WORKS GREAT. OF COURSE YOU CAN ADJUST THE KIT FOR YOUR EXACT NEEDS BUT I WENT FOR THAT ALL OUT HOT ROD AFFECT!! IT ACTUALLY COMES WITH A VIDEO, DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS AND GREAT TECH SUPPORT IF YOU NEED THEM. IF YOU'RE MECHANICALLY INCLINED, IT WILL BE NO PROBLEM TO INSTALL. IT TOOK ME ABOUT 2.5 HRS.

IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO THE KIT THAT I PUT IN. YOU CAN OBTAIN INFO FROM WWW.TRANSGO.COM
FOR A 4 SPD. AUTO, IT COSTS 129.95 YOU HAVE TO DROP THE PAN, TAKE OUT THE VALVE BODY. PERFORM A COUPLE OF TASKS ON THE SERVOS IN TRANNY AND CHANGE A FEW THINGS IN THE VALVE BODY. THEY GIVE YOU GREAT DIRECTIONS FOR WHICH YOU CAN MAKE WHAT NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS FOR YOUR PARTICULAR NEEDS. LIKE I SAID EARLIER, I WENT FOR THAT TOTAL HOT ROD AFFECT!! THATS WHAT I'M INTERESTED IN. POWER, POWER & MORE POWER!!!!

I got my transgo shift kit from McRe Tranmission Parts in El Cajon Ca 619-588-8423. i got the professional kit so it cost a little more than the above post listed. i am having the kit put in by ramco automotive in santee ca. i have used the transgo kit in another truck i had in the 70s. i could chirp the big 12-16.5 tires on the one two shift at part throttle every time.

MARSHAL...
I HAVE THE PROFESSIONAL KIT AS WELL. I BOUGHT MINE DIRECTLY FROM TRANSGO. THATS WHY MY PRICE WAS CHEAPER THAN YOURS. MARKUP HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. YOUR GUY BOUGHT IT FOR A LOWER PRICE THAN HE IS SELLING TO YOU.
GEEZ...BASIC MECHANICS MARK THERE PARTS UP 20-30%
