Has anyone out there installed a Paxton supercharger on their V-10. If so, I'd like to discuss their results and diffuculties if they have a higher boost that from the factory.

Question

Billy,
why don't you post your baseline 1/4mi times & after installation times, I'm curious & thinking about an SC for my 98 2wd V10 W/3.55's. I saw a doctor at the Mopar NATS this year who had one on a 98 4wd 3.55's & it was running like 14.6 I think. But he had 2 problems. 1 was he needed a tac signal but had to actually create one with a small added circut with an extra sparkplug mounted to the frame. the other was it was VERY sensitive to the weather. the times would go from a 14.6 to a 15.6 depending on the weather.

Thumbs up

I HAVE A PAXTON NOVI 2000 ON MY 98 QC V-10. IT WORKS SPECTACULAR. I AM ACTUALLY STILL USING THE FACTORY COMPUTER. I HAVE NO PINGING PROBLEMS AT ALL AND I'M USING REGULAR HIGH OCTANE AT THE PUMPS. THEY DO HAVE AN APPLICATION WITH AN INTERCOOLER AS WELL BUT IT HAS TO BE ADAPTED TO OUR V-10. I DIDN'T DO THIS YET BUT IT ISN'T A PROBLEM TO DO THAT. RIGHT NOW IT WAS DYNOED @ 455 HP. THE BEST TIMES I'VE RAN WAS 13.5 WITH AVGS. AT 13.9 I PLAN ON DOING SOME MORE TWEEKING AND HOPE TO GET UNDER 13'S. MY FRIEND PUT ON SOME OTHER BRAND CHARGER WITH AN INTERCOOLER. IT WAS SUPPOSE TO PRODUCE
550 HP. WELL I STILL BEAT HIM WITH NO PROBLEM. HE WAS MAD AFTER HE HAD IT DYNOED. WOUND UP TAKING IT OFF AND RETURNING IT FOR A FULL REFUND. PEOPLE KNOCK PAXTON BUT I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL. IF YOU READ A KENNE BELL CATALOG THEY KNOCK IT COMPLETELY. SAYING IT ONLY HAS PULL AFTER 5,OOO RPM'S. WELL, THEY ARE DEFINATELY WRONG!!!! MINE HAS PULL RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE AND ALL THE WAY UP TO 5,000 RPM'S AND IT KICKS IN AT ANY SPEED. SOMEONE ELSE I KNOW CHANGED THE PULLEY ON THE SAME APPLICATION & TRUCK HE'S PUSHING ABOUT 13.5 BOOST. THE NOVI 2000 IS RATED UP TO 21 BOOST. BUT OF COURSE WE CAN'T TAKE IT THAT FAR WITHOUT BREAKING SOMETHING. GOOD LUCK!!

MOPAR NUT,

I have the same unit as u, do you have an early kit or later kit with the modifications. Your times are considerably better than mine---- I must be doing something wrong or have something hooked up wrong. How much boost are u running ?

Can you give me your email address?

V10nacuda,

Why would you need a tach signal for the supercharger? I thought that the boost was a result of the belt rpm.

BillyBob,
I think the tac signal was for his fuel map computer, (supposedly there isn't one available under the hood of the OBDII's)It was a rather interesting setup, he had a circut that needed an extra sparkplug that he drilled a hole in the core support & installed it there.. This guy was an MD, He was just doing this stuff for kicks & I woulg guess to blow some $$$. It was his truck & he was working with some electrical engineer friend of his. Not sure where he was from but his truck was a 98 QC short box maroon in color. It was the talk of the staging lanes at the 99 nats, maybe someone will recognize him from this & U can talk to him direct.

V10nacuda,

The only computer I have found that will work on the fuel system is by "haltech". Have you heard of them? Good/bad?
