Hi there!
Has anyone run any of the Hughes Engines cams? In particular I would like to hear from you if you ran the HE3844AL in your small block. I'm curious as to what CR you are running, what gas and how's the engine vacuum, along of course with the rest of the cam's characteristics. All opinions are very welcome! -Dariusz |

All I know about them is that they are made for Hughes by Engle Cams. They are supposed to be very good cams.

I don't know about that particular cam, but I am running one of their cams in my 4x4. it has 4.56 gears, 39" tall tires, and it screams. I am running an HE5462H cam (.473 I, .491 E) and it sounds stock until ya need the power, then it is there in spades. This truck will spin my 15 x 38.5" tires on the 1-2 shift @ 4200 rpm. I have been very pleased with this cam. I am running a Carter 625 AFB and idle speed is around 750 rpm, vacuum is around 18 ", CR is 9.4-1, and if ya rev the motor up, it looks like it is gonna come off the mounts. If you do get a split duration cam like I did...do something I didn't (and it is hurting the power I can make), degree in the cam !!!!! Good Luck, and you won't be dissappointed with any of thier cams.
