A tbi is a throtle body. but what does tbi stand for. Inform me I am new.

TBI: Throttle Body Injection
since the throttle body is the first point at which air is injected into the intake.

89-93 Dodge trucks had tbi on them & 94 up have sequential port fuel injection on them. With tbi there are one or two injectors located in the throttle body above the throttle plates. On port fuel inj the injectors are in the intake man or cyl head close to the intake valve(s). Hope that helps to clarify the differance.
