My '96 Dodge P/U...compass won't stay calibrated. Have done the drive in circles bit a few times. Compass will work for a while and then suddenly go back into "Cal" mode. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just started at the first of the year....a Y2K glich??? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had the same problem when I first got my 99 Sport. I had to do the embarrassing circles about 10 times before the CAL light would go off. I think you are supposed to do it for at least 5-7 complete turn arounds ... have you tried doing about 10 or so?

Bowhunter, do you, or have you used a magnetic CB antenna on the roof? If you do/did the roof panel might be magnitized & will wack out the compass. There is a special tool to demagnitize the panel that your dealer might have.
------------------ If at first you don't succeed, read the instructions |
