Question

I have heard from several resources that Flowmaster lost it's patent. Has anyone else heard something about this? I know a place where I can get a one chamber (made by a company who has copied the flowmaster design)and have it installed for $60. A friend of mine had them put on his mustang and they sound awesome. Look like they're better made too.

I just found out that this is misinformation. Flowmaster hasn't lost their patent, but there does happen to be a company in Tennessee that produces a muffler very similar to the flowmaster. The only difference is that they (tennessee company) use a thicker steel. I'm not sure the name of the company, but I listened to a Ram with one of these mufflers and it sounded like a Flowmaster, only much deeper toned. Well, that's all for now.

I'm going to find out the name of the company this afternoon or tomorrow. Ram1500 you paid more for that turbo than you would for these mufflers. The one chambered mufflers are only $30. I love the loudness factor that you get by opening up the exhaust. Kinda like a good lookin women..turns me on. Anyways...I'll find out some info and pass it on to all who want it.

The company's name is Maremont. It's located in Loudon,Tn. I know some people who used to work there and they swear that they make the mufflers for Flowmaster. I don't know if that's true, just what they told me.
