Hi, I'm new. We just bought a 2000 Ram 1500. I would like some advice about Bug Deflectors. I don't want one that sticks on with double sided tape. What looks good on the truck? Who makes a good quality product?
Thanks, Tom

I don't use my Mopar bug deflector because it covers up the Ram emblem.

BB,
That and the price were the reasons I didn't buy the MOPAR bug deflector. I'm trying to get a look at one that attaches between the grill and the hood. I saw one go by me the other day, but I don't know what brand it was. When I've called around its been the same old story, "we don't have one in the store, but we can order one" I'm hoping someone will let me know about a good one or even warn about a bad one, so I don't waste money. Thanks, Tom

A couple of choices I found.. if you are not interested in the factory bug deflector.

Company: PCI
1)Has a bug deflector that mounts between the grille and the hood, it can be had in smoke or clear. You can paint the clear for a stealth look.

2)Also makes a stainless steel deflector that again mount between the grille and the hood.

I bought the factory deflector for myself as it has better coverage and the fit seemed a little better....also has the RAM sticker on it.

Question

Are you going with the "eyebrows" as well ? I passed on them first, and changed my mind after trying to use JUST the deflector.

RAM MAN,
Yes I want the "eyebrows" to protect the paint on the fenders. What brand did you buy? Would you recommend it or another brand instead?
Also, thanks Big Mac, PCI is one I'm waiting for the local dealer to get so I can look at it up close. Tom

I saw a "Prime Designs" style on a Ram and it looks great and it was installed between the grille and the hood. And it smoothly curved down and lined up with the fender shields- "Eye Brows". Check out at http://www.ochterbeck.com/bugshields.htm That is where I have found them and they seemed reasonably priced.

Thumbs up

I bought the Lund "Xterminator" and have been happy with it. No problems what so ever . . .
