They can be rebuilt. E-mail my friend Ian
ianins@hotmail.com and tell him Glen sent you. I know he has rebuit them and they worked after. There is something you have to grind. Hopefully he can help. Your not to far from me. What Drag strip do you go to? I run at Cayuga. I have a bright orange Volare Roadrunner with a 440. Maybe you've seen it. I ran at both Mopar days the last few years except last year. The car is in the middle of a complete overhaul. [This message has been edited by Glen440 (edited March 04, 2000).] |

it can be done and it works good. If the cone has bottomed out in the case(shiny ring in the bottom of the case) have a machine shop grind the face down about .060. after this is done I would check for excess spider gear play in case someone has done this a couple of times or ck it before. Mopar mag did article on it couple of years ago then another came back and said it was no good. I added an extra set of springs inside and a hair taller than the main ones for added bite and its been working for two years now, especially when you consider 850 bucks for a new one. it coast about 50 bucks to grind down plus the cost of inner springs. have to press harder on reassembly with the extra springs
