I've alwasys used the Milodon 7qt oil pan, but ya' better be careful not to hit any pot holes or you'll lose it.

My 71 Demon was a original 340-4spd car and I used the stock OEM suspension,Everything worked fine and I use both the Milodon pan(440)and the Moroso pan (383).

OK-once again I made assumtions, jumped to conclusions and am a bonehead!
Heres the story...I'm building another 440 for my dart. The original one has a stock chrome pan from PAW.I score another 440 out of a '73 c-body and start to rebuild it.The oil pan looked to be the same as the one in the car.I then order a Proform 8 quart pan from Mancini Racing and when it shows up it measures 2 3/4" deep where the center link should cross. The c-body pan only measured 2" there so I freaked.Turns out the pan in the car now is also 2 3/4" deep at that point. No problem! If anybody is looking for a pan and needs that extra clearance the c-body pan has a big #933 stamped in it. |
