Question

I bought a new converter from Earnhardt's Dodge (P4876805) for just $95. It is a 2K stall converter and I can't tell who the manufacturer is.

Anyway, I didn't realize until I was ready to bolt it to the flex-plate that it doesn't fit! The threaded blocks that the flex-plate bolts to are about half as tall as the ones on my original converter. They are shorter than the domed top of the converter! It looks like I'd need a flex-plate that bends around the domed part of the converter if I'm going to reach the threaded blocks.

Does anyone know what's going on? Did they give me the wrong converter or am I missing something else?

I dont know TOO much about these things, but I know there are distinctions between 727/904 ... cast crank/forged crank (has to do with balancing).. year of transmission etc. etc. I would check all these things against any information u can get about the converter.

The converter you have is a Turbo-Action ,new converter for '67-'90 A904. It has a 1900-2000 stall. It Fits non lockup transmissions and will not fit the lockup type Or nerwer transmissions. It is listed in the '99 MP catalog on page 102. It is a 10" even though it measures about 10.5"
