Anyone here have any info on how expensive and difficult it is to install power steering and power brakes on a '69 Roadrunner 383 4-speed?

It's not difficult to do,the expense is depending on where you purchase your parts. Some places have a complete kit to change over, but in your case if you have drum brakes, adding a power brake booster isn't hard. The power steering will be a bit on the expensive side as you will need the obvious parts, plus brackets, hoses,a different steering column. The easiest way to do this is to find a donor car and take EVERYTHING you will need.My question is why you want to do this.I have a 70 Road Runner 383/4-speed and it stops and steers fine with manual steering and drum brakes.

If you are looking to go fast, skip the power steering. The power steering will ad about 75-100lbs to the nose of the car - excatly where you don't want it. The power brakes are worth the upgrade since the weight gain is minimal. IF the suspension is aligned properly the manual steering shouldn't be too much hassle.

Thanks for the tips guys. Looks like I'll ditch the power steering.
Anyone now where I can purchase a power brake conversion kit? How long of a job is it (weekend. evening?)
Also, what about new disks all around what does it cost and what do I need to make it work with new power system?

Thumbs up

moparteen, I just put wilwood disc brakes on my demon. They were the heavy duty style, probably the same you would need.I payed $750 from jegs.Besides being light weight they were alot less expensive than any other disc brake conversion that i have seen.
