Mine was a 62 Ford Falcon with a 144 cid six. I hoped it up as much as I could, putting in a floor shifter for the 3 on the tree, made my own split manifold, chrome reverse wheels with redline tires. Whew!!!

I had a 78 Ford F-100 with a 300 inline 6, clifford aluminum intake with a Holley 450 2-barrel, blackjack headers, dual glasspacks, 3 speed on the column and 4.26 gears. You didn't want to mess with it in a short distance and a punk kid behing the wheel. Went to mopar after that and haven't gone back. At the same time we had a 1975 Plymouth Fury Custom with a 318 block modified to a 340 with heads, cam, and intake. Wrecked it dragging a 67 chevelle with a 350. Car pulled out into the side of me. too bad he wasn't winning! This was the old mans car, I think I would have been better off burning the house down! LOL He didn''t talk to me for quite awhile.

Oh, no! 3 Fords in a row!
My 1st car was a 1963 Ford Galaxy 500 XL in blue with the 352 Thunderbird engine. This was in 1966. 8.3 miles per gallon. Almost a minute to reach 60 MPH, it seemed. It didn't go fast so I had J.C.Whitney add the ultimate high performance modification (for a Ford) - a set of stick on 427 emblems that looked just like the real 427 emblems. A lot of people were impressed. Some went away even more impressed that they had spanked a 427 Ford.
My mom made me get that P.O.S. Soon even she realized it was Fixed Or Repaired Daily. Then she listened to reason and helped me get a 1966 Plymouth Sport Satelite with the 383 Super Commando. If I had known better I would have asked her for the Hemi!

First was my 86 Dodge Ram D-150, 4x2, 318 2 barrel. Very slow truck, but I guess that was a good thing cause my next vehicle was a 93 Dodge Ram D-150 4x2, 318 magnum and that truck was fast. almost all of my tickets ever were in that truck. Then I got my current ride 97 Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 318. Anybody notice a trend here.

Sorry to add to the FORD list, but mine was a 1968 Ford Mustang GT. It had a 302 bored .30 over, posi, 4 bbl, headers and when I bought it the Hooker headers dumped into Thrust straight glasspack mufflers (no tailpipes.) The glasspacks were so old that I could see thru them.

But you could honestly tromp on the gas and raise the front tires - maybe 2 or 3 inches off the ground. Here's what it looked like the day I brought it home. (Thats a hood mounted Tach)

A few years later this was my first new Truck:

The guy I sold it to Hot Rodded it all out - put a 429 BOSS Mustang block in it. It was promptly stolen, stripped, and burned. - They never did catch those guys either. That reminds me, I never did buy an alarm for my truck . . . .

First car I owned was a '48 Chrysler Saratoga (straight 8)...I never got to drive it though (pre-license and I never got it running before selling it...for a nice profit).

My first driver (got my first tickets with it when I was 13 ) was a '66 Ford Galaxie 500 with a 352 4bbl and automatic (3.00:1 rear). It was a great first car with lots of personality. It was a gold with a white vinyl top, chrome rims with baby moons all round. It wasn't super quick, but I had it up to 135mph several times (beware the brick ). It had 352,000 documented miles on it (I was 3rd owner, 2nd owner was friend of the family and only had it a year, original owner (farmers) had it for 15years). The started went out one night when I was cruising, left it in the middle of a huge supermarket parking lot...under a light...and some idiot in a datsun pickup was doing reverse to first burnouts, and happened to T-bone the Galaxie while doing about 30mph in reverse. Luckily I had friends there or he would have ran off without leaving any info . His insurance paid up, I bought back the Galaxie from them and sold the engine to a buddy with a '65 Galaxie 500. I don't know how many miles he put on that engine before selling it, but he drove it at least 2 more years before it started huffin a little smoke. Fix or Repair Daily...MY ASS! . Anyway, used the insurance money to buy my second driver (which I loved), a '66 Plymouth Sport Fury...383 2bbl auto 3.23rear when I got it, 440 4bbl 4spd 4.11rear when it left my ownership (at 19 or 20).

I will be the first to go foreign?? My first car was a 1987 Toyota FX-16. You guys may laugh at that if you saw one but it is extremely fast for a 4-cyl DOHC 16 valve powered car. Toyota only made 150 of them.

My first car was a 74 Chevy Vega GT, when I got it in 1982 it only had 25,000 miles on it, but the motor was blown up. Me and my step-father took out the 4 cyl. and put in a used 327 and 4-speed we took out of a totaled 67 Camaro. That car was a blast to drive and would outrun almost anything around. Wish I still had it, but I was stupid and let my buddy borrow it once, he let it get away from him and wrapped it around a tree.

I'm gonna make ol' Billy Bob look like a kid! My first car was a 1941 Chevrolet 2-door sedan. It was the worst car I ever owned in 46 years of driving, and it is the ONLY non-Mopar I owned. My second car was a 1948 Plymouth 2-door sedan, and it was one of the best among the 30-plus Mopars I've owned since then. Can't say I don't learn quickly!

My first car was a 87 Dodge 600SE.
My second was a 97 Dodge Stratus.
My third was and is a 98 SS/T..

Thats right 3 cars and 3 MOPARS.
(I'm only 25 so that's why there's only 3 cars)

Every car seems to get better, I can't wait to see what Mopar I get next..

Cool

My first vehicle was a 1979 Jeep CJ-7, was a ton of fun 4 wheeling in the woods. Had that for a long time then wanted bigger and better so I went to a 1976 Chevy 4x4 Shortbed with a 4 inch lift and 35's on it. I proceeded to totally trick that tuck out and by the time I sold it, it had a hydraulic tilt nose from a 1987, hydraulic tilt bed, custom interior, and the list goes on and on. After that I went to my 1999 Dodge Quad cab that I traded in early this year and now I'm very content with the 2001 Quad cab

Mine was a 1968 Chevy Short stepside pickup, 283 V-8, 350 heads, Edelbrock Performer Intake, Rochester Quadrajet, Hooker Headers, Glasspacks, Primer Gray, and Whatever pieces of metallic brown paint that hadnt blown off yet! Still have that truck, my buddy is putting 5 bolt drums and a 72 chevy front clip w/disc brakes on the frame with a slammed stance. Got the body completely off. Plan to buy another friends 427 bored engine with all the goodies ready to be assembled to drop in it. Gonna be a frame up custom. Went from that to my dads '77 GMC Longbed 1/2 ton Sierra, I-6, 3 on the tree, many many integrated heads LOL, on to my first new one, a 96 Ford F-150 single cab short bed, all black, I-6 300 5 sp, 2.73:1 gears (gutless), on to a 97 Ram 1500 reg cab short bed, v-6, auto, tricked it out but was still gutless, traded it in on the used Ram I got now, and wish every day I had kept the 97. Much better truck and would have been so easy to drop a 360 in! It was Flame Red, body match spray in liner, dark ass tinted windows, low pro tires and rims, chrome bed rails, cat back system with echo chambers. Thinkin bout buyin a wrecked one to build up like that one again in near future...

Well this has been very interesting to read about the first drives. Especially the die-hard Mopar fans. I've always driven Fords or Chevys. After the 62 Falcon, I stepped up to a 66 mustang GT. Follwing that a 69 Mustang Mach I with a 428 Cobra Jet. What a hoot that one was. Then College hit and I went to a Ford pinto. I hated that piece of trash but it got me through school. The first Mopar I ever owned was a 91 Caravan. Worst vehicle I've ever owned. Read a Consumer's Reports article about how bad the electronic 4-speed auto tranny was 3 weeks after I took delivery. Sure enough. Nothing but tranny problems from there on. Swore up and down I would never own a Chrysler product ever again. Then I spied my SS/T. After 35k miles, never been to the shop. The Caravan almost ruined me. Thank goodness for Rams.
