I'm going to put a set of indy SR's fully ported on my low block stroker 431 now I need to know what 2x4 intake to use with the max wedge intake ports.(other than the indy 2x4 intake) If possible . The indy is a very expensive piece. I'm building this motor for Nostaglic max wedge N/MW I have to run 2 carter carbs 600cfm or 750cfm .no holley's Thanks Sancer

Lancer,
Did you have the SR's opened up to max wedge size? As shipped they are standard wedge pattern.

yeah billyclub is correct, they are not mawedge sized, you can go to my site and look at the pictures I have of their ports,I have a stock gasket next to a set of SR's and next to a set of 440-1's,from that you can see that the SR's are not huge and a 431 would be a 383 block .030 over with a 440 crank so that Indy dual 4 intake will not work anyway because it is meant for a 440 block and when I asked if they were going to make one for the low deck they said no,unless you know of an intake I don't?

Your only choices for 2x4 bbl are B-block tunnel rams, Edelbrock STR cross ram or the original 383 2x4 intake. I think Indy does not have an intake for the B-block with standard size port openings.

can you get a picture? I would like to see how far in they are ported, the runners on those are a lot smaller than the 440-1's,I have a set of the 440-1's and have been thinking of getting a set of the SR's but would like to know the porting capability.

I think the SR's have very thick port walls, they are externally the same size as the 440-1's. The only difference is the pushrod hole. Like Ken Lazzerri said, "the more you port the Sr's, the more they'll be like the 440-1's. You could start with the 440-1's in the first place."

not trying to start anything here but because of that pushrod knotch in the port you can not port them as big as a 440-1,if you get a chance look at the pictures on my site,I have a close up of the area for the push rod,you could open the outside area of the port but you can't go deep with it.
boy I wish they would make the dual 4 intake for the low deck when I talked to them at the nats they said that they would not.
