Hi all,
I posted a previous question in the FWD forum but thought I'd try my luck here because I think this forum sees the most action.... so here goes: I've got a 94 Intrepid ES with 70K miles. My wife says sometimes when she's driving it, "the little needle left of the speedo falls to 0". She's not to technical, especially when it comes to cars, but from what I understand, she'll be driving along, engine acting quite normally when the tach will fall to zero and the engine quits. She says she has to pull over, and wait 5 minutes before it will start again. Ok, this has never happend to me, but I never drive that car. Someone in FWD forum suggested crank or cam sensor going bad. I've never worked on anything but big blocks, and when I raise the hood on that car to change oil, I promply put it back down! There's barely enough room in there to slip a piece of paper between the engine and all the surrounding junk. So I guess what I'm asking is are these cam/crank sensors externally accessable and how hard are they to change? How about price? Thanks for any info! Pat |

The cam sensor on the 3.5 is located on the drivers side cam cover(if I remember right!!) and it is the one that usually fails. The best bet is to run the codes using a scan tool and find out for sure.
