Question

I am looking at buying a new carb. Iam not sure which one to choose. A holley or a speed demon. Any opinions the prices for 850 double pumers are very close between the two. Are the demons much better or is holley the way to go. Any info aprreciated.

Cool

I recently talked with some guys at Indy Cylinder Head and they recommended the Demon. They used to use Holley HP Pro carbs but after testing an 850 Speed Demon and seeing that it made more power than the similarly sized Holley, (and it is cheaper than the HP Pro carbs too) he said they've switched over to using Demons for testing and recommended I use one. (BTW, he said the model he was using at the time is listed as an 850, but it can flow over 900-something cfm's at 28".)

Good luck!

The nice thing about Hollys is they are not as touchy as a Demon. Hollys are really is to adjust. The Indy guys told me to switch to the Demon also. So its all up to you.

I just switched from a tricked out 780 Holley to a speedDemon 850 mechanical secondary.I am very pleased with the way it runs out of the box and with the detailed pamphlet with it tuning should be a snap.I was laying down a bit at just over 4,000 now 5,800 comes RIGHTNOW!!
