I have a '87 W150(4wd) w/360cu. I want to improve the trans shifting mainly for towing and off road. Most of the shit kits I've seen only go up to '79. The trans has a non lock-up converter. Will the early model kits work or is there some kit for the '87?

W150RAM, You should not have any trouble with the older style shift kit from Trans-Go. I have installed there shift kits in 1968-1999 transmissions. Call there tech line and tell them what you want to do and they will give you any help you need. I have used there TF-2 kit in tranny's up to 1990. I just put there overdrive kit in my 1999 5.9 Durango. It has the 518 <727> trans in it.

If you have a non-lock up it'll work. Most companies say upto ~79 because it was in the later 70s that most Mopar trannies (for cars anyway) went to lock-up converters. They don't recommending using shift kits with lock-ups. You say yours is non-lock up so it'll be OK to use the kit.
