I would have to say that Dart is right, see his replies on the topic "mishap with the 340....". I talked to my buddy that has the 360 magnum crate motor in his Dart.
He and the guy that works on it have found these problems: A magnum cam will run about $200.00 for a very small selection. It takes a butt-load of work to change to upgrade the valve springs when changing the cam. I was mistaken, they do not have the 308 heads - I'm stupid. But the 308 heads flow better than the magnums. The magnum heads don't flow good beyond the cam the comes in the motor. Others that have these motors have reported rocker arm failure with stiffer springs and larger cams. Additionally, he wishes that the magnums have the shaft-style rocker set-up. He best describes the magnum rocker set-up as a Ford-type configuration. They are looking a an aftermarket set of rockers just to be safe. anything else??? ART |
