Question

9:1 400, 452's, med. cam, just got the high performance advance curved distributor and am showing about 50 at 3,000. This is with 12 timing at idle, what should my total timing at 3,000 be? What about Idle? I know how to adjust the plate and have a machine but I just need to know what to shoot for? Thanks!

The bigblocks like 36-38 full advance with vacuum advance disconnected. With vacuum hooked up it'll be in the 50's. I have only set full advance. What ever it is at idle is what it is. I put the light springs in the distributor on my 400 and had full advance at idle. It had only 8-1 comp so it still ran good.
