There is no magic pushrod length when you start milling heads, blocks, different gaskets, solid cams etc etc etc. You need to try out a pushrod, see if it is too long or short and then order or make a set the correct length. General rule of thumb is that you want no more than 2 or 3 threads of the adjuster showing below the rocker.

Comp Chassis is right. But to give you some info in case you don't have it, the standard mechanical cam, adjustable rocker, pushrods are 9.20 inches overall length. These are available from Mopar Performance P4529560. Crane sells them for this application as part number 64684-16 and they list them as 9.250 inches overall length.

I hope that gets you started.

Shoot for the 1 thread below the rocker tip with the proper valve lash. Every thread is worth .042. That information was given to me by a Chrysler engine builder. I asked him the same question about 2 weeks ago.

Another thing to look out for:
Make sure that the oil hole on the back of the rocker arm lubricates the adjuster/pushrod contact area or you'll have big problems. I see it all the time, guys trying to have as little threads exposed as possible, & the pushrod cups don't get enough lubrication. The tips will overheat & break, with a potential for a big mess.

I can sign that too, after an hour of running time with no threads showing beneath the rocker all the pushrod ends were more or less blue, one pushrod end broke and split in to four pieces, the rocker shaft was broken etc. The rocker shaft breakage is still a mystery, but next time the pushrods will be the correct length! The pushrods, lifters and rockers+shafts were all new Cranes and the heads had been milled .080".
