I am wondering how wide an E-body rear end is. Backing plate to backing plate measurement would really help or how much wider is it than a B-body. I need a wider rear end for my Volare. It currently has a B-body 8-3/4. I am looking for 3/4 to an inch a side. I know the perch mounts must be moved. I just stuffed 295/50R15's under the
rear and miss judged the back spacing.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

I just swapped in a B body housing to my 70 Cuda to get a little extra tire clearance on the outside sidewalls. I gained about 3/4" of clearance on each side. I did this on the last Cuda I had also. If 3/4" more clearance on the inside will solve your problem and you are running a stock B body housing, then an E body housing will solve your problems. (Of course you'll have to use the e Body axles too.)

Does anyone have the drum to drum and spring perch measurements too?

I bought a project car, '73 Barracuda and the 8-3/4 in it is 61.5 drum to drum, the spring perches measure 41.5 inside, 46.5 outside (44 center). I don't know if it is the original rear or not.
