I could use some advice. Does anybody have any tricks to installing the rear main oil seal and retainer so I don't end up with any oil leaks? Thanks, Gene

I always use the rubber seal and put a bit of Permatex on it to hold it in place, then apply a bit more to the mating surface of the actual aluminum cap where it meets the block and you shouldn't have any problems.

I got a tip on this once and always had good luck with it. Fill the sides of the cap with silicone and slide the side seals in after installing the cap. Smooth out the silicone on the rear of the cap where it meets the block after pushing in the seals. Never had one leak after doing it this way.
