Thanx to everyone that replied to my post.I was able to get the gauge to work only after following the troubleshooting tips posted here.
I found that the gauge itself was ok by grounding the wire at the sending unit to the outlet pipe at the sending unit,which was grounded to the metal gas line, with the key on it read full.Then I went inside
and found that the float lever must have gotten bent when it was installed, tight fit here.It was hanging up on
screen that covers the pick up tube. striaghtened
out the lever re installed the unit put ten gallons in the tank,turned the key on,we got gas!!!
