I tried this question in Tires forum with no reply...Any input here???
How much space do you fellas recommend to have between the tire & springs. Is 3/4 in enough for 295 50's on a 10" rim.... & 1" with the same rim & 28x10.5" M/T Drag slick????? The car is a 71 Bcuda with front & rear sway bars Super stock springs with the Mopar offset shackle package. Thanks V 10 |

I would say that that should be plenty. Everything between the tire and spring is bolted together solid, so there would be no way for the tire to move closer to the spring. In regards to tire growth at higher speeds with racing slicks, the sidewall would move away from the spring at high speed. I only had about 1/2" clearance on my last Cuda and didn't have any problems.

That should work. With slicks watch your turn speed as the tire side wall can rub spring if you run low pressure.
