I think the B body rear is to wide for the A body. I guess you can fix that with bigger offset wheels. You will have to move the perch mounts in so it'll bolt up to the springs. Its easiest to buy new ones and weld them in the proper spot. You'll have to make sure there in the right spot or the pinion angle will be wrong. With the gears I personally like a little more than 3.23. It all depends what motor you run and what Rpm it makes power at.

I am trying to put together a rear end swap guide. From what people have told me so far, here is the dimensions you are swaping:
A-body: axle flange to flange 55.6", spring perches center to center 43.0" 1962-70 B-body: axle flange to flange 59.2", spring perches center to center 44.0" 1971-74 B-body: axle flange to flange 62.0", spring perches center to center 47.3" Let me know if your measurements differ. ------------------ 440 Jim E-Body Fish |

Joe On axles it depends on what you want. A set of resplined b-body axles from Moser are 150 + shipping These need you to use B or E-body brakes though. A brand new set of axles will be closer to 300 for the pair plus shipping. If you are going to be over 500HP then I would go with a new set rather than a resplined set.

I have used B-Body rear axle in a '73 Valiant and one was also under my '66 Dart when I bought it. If you move the spring pearches it will fit with wheels with big offset. I think B-body axles can't be resplined to A-body width but C-body axles can. I narrowed the B-body housing in my '66 and bought new Strange axles for it. In the '73 I have resplined stockers and they have served for 10 years now without problems. The 3500 lbs car runs low 11's.
