Can you guys tell me how to make sure my gas gauge is burnt out, before I go through the touble of pulling it out? All the other gauge's work fine Im getting juice to the sending unit, and Ive tried grounding the tank better, but still nothing. It probably the gauge but I just want to be sure. Thanks!

Getting juice to the sending unit??? The sending unit should be providing a ground to the gauge.

Ground the fuel gauge wire at the tank. If the gauge goes to F, it working fine. If not then the gauge or wire is at fault.

Hook an ohm meter to the terminal post on the sending unit with one lead and ground the other.with the meter set on the 0-100 scale it should read 73 ohms +/- 12 ohms empty and 10 ohms +/- 1 ohm full.If you know how much gas is in the tank, say around half a tank or so it should be in the 40 ohm range.
