for all you guys who have put 440's in darts and dusters, did you put frame connectors on them? why or why not? if you did not, have you noticed any frame twisting?

I have them in my car(71 Demon)I use my car strictly as a drag race car,so they needed to be in there.I put a set on the Road Runner when we raced it years ago and noticed the doors closed a bunch easier.I think in a car with a good engine and can hook up well, they are needed.

I did'nt need them yet in my dart,no twisting that I could notice, but I never tried running with slicks either.I ended up putting a set in after visiting Chris Alstons Chassis World in sacremento.Went there to get a roll bar.Ended up walking out with a full cage kit and sub frames. It's a good thing the wallet ran dry before the salesman could work me up over the 4-link backhalf kit!The car is much stiffer and a little more consistant.

Put them in. I made a couple of passes and had two neat dents in each rear quarter panel. The dents were both in about the same spot on each quarter and looked like some one kicked a soccer ball at it. The doors do close better and the car feels stiffer just feels better.

I had problems with the doors in a 13 second streeter that had never used slicks but seen other kind of punishing more than enough. The frame connectors solved the problems, I definitely would use them always.

years back a buddy had a 69 firebird with a 454 and a 4-speed,he ran it with slicks and street raced it all the time,it ripped both 1/4 panels about 8 inches straight up from about the middle of the rear wheel wells up,if I had not seen it myself i would not have believed it but that car was a mess when he got done with it.
I put them in all my cars now and you can feel a difference in the ride and you can put a floor jack under one side and jack both tires off the ground not that there is a need for that very often. |

I put mine in the car when i had a 340-4spd,it made one hell of a difference, you can buy the bolt in kind or make them your self i used 2" x 3" x 1/8" box tubing and cut the floor and tied the frame and floor together.Made it very strong.
