Just picked up a set of Centreline Autodrag satin finished rims. They are in pretty good nick however the satin finish needs attention due to oxidation? ? I have been told that the best way to restore them would be to soak a Scotchbrite pad in Kerosene and then scuff the rim in the same direction as originally manufactured. Does anyone know if this is the best way to restore the surface or is there a better way? Any info /advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using 0000 steel wool with a powdered car soap dissolved in water. As you said, move in a clockwise motion around the the wheel. The soap solution acts as a lubricant. Do not cross the grain pattern of the alluminum.

MAYBE SOMEONE ON THE WHEELS AND TYRES FORUM COULD HELP YOU. DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE SATIN FINISH, BUT YOU COULD TRY AUTOSOL. |
