A buddy of mine scored a very stright 67 Coronet 440 for $1200.
Good body and interior but powered by the undesireable wide block 318. It so happens I have a running '69 318 that came out of my car I would sell him for a song. The question is will the tranny swap over to it? Will he need to hunt another tranny? Will the motor mounts work?
I don't know much of anything about those oldies wide block engines accept you can't get any performance goodies for them.

As a afterthought, what is the performance potential of those old motors?? Would 300+ HP be a reasonable performance goal or would it just make dollar-HP sense to swap the LA 318?

Cool

Somebody probably just stuck it in there. I had a friend who had a '74 Charger with a poly in it. He had a terrible time getting parts for it until I told him what it was. Previous owner just told him it was a 318.

Canadian cars are the only cars that had wide blocks for '67. The LA 318 is mutch easier to do stuff too...I think of it as the "mini" 340!!!

Question 66 last year for Poly??

I'm sure the car is a '67 but people swapping the front clip when they wreck their car isn't unheard of. (Saw a '69 Plymouth station wagon with a '69 Dodge front clip once) I will check the VIN number. Its is good news that the swap will be easy. He is itching to start mining for horse power.
