I know this is a performance forun but I don't know where to post this question

I picked up a dash for my 72 Satellite.
I asked a mechanic friend if he would help me with the project. He said it would take about 40 hrs to R and R a 72 b body dash .
40 HRS !!!. Is he smoking something like bondo.
How long should it take ?
Thanks for any advice
Fred..

FIRST the good news ; you can do it yourself!! I'm somewhat patience challanged and was able to replace the dash in my 72 runner in about 3 evenings. NOW the bad news; it is a ringtailed sob of a project. you will need 3 elbows in each arm, be able to work blind -upside down and basackwards. You will knock the hide off of every knuckle you have and by the time you are done you will take Walter Chryslers name in vain !! Its your choice-- but my opinion is 20-25 hrs. If your mechanic is honest and don,t pad the labor timesheet it should be worth it!! Hope this input helps 72 beeper
