Has anyone tried to upgrade the old sealed beam headlights?
I've seen plenty of the H5001 & H5006 upgrade bulb. but those are still an outdated design. I'm thinking about the Hella 71156 & 71456 upgrade kit. The 71156 is the headlight housing with an H1 bulb and the 71456 is the housing with an H4 bulb. H5001 is 35W H5006 is 35/50W H1 is 55W H4 is 55/60W The best price that I have been able to find is $88.00 a pair. Has anybody tried this?? If so, are these that much better than the (standard) Halogen replacements? |

I upgraded my 72 Duster to Hella's that were purchased in Germany (My opinion is they're much better than the Hella's bought in the USA). I'm running 100w high beams and am really happy with them. I'd recommend the change because of the superior lighting due to better lens quality and the various bulbs that are available.
