Question

Does anyone know if the 5903 hooker competition headers will fit a 65 coronet with a 440 ??? Sumitt list them as 64 -72 B & E body with b/rb ! Mancini shows them as 66-72 and my hometown speedshop list them as 66-74 B&E body . I really didn't think there was any difference in engine bays from 62 - 67 B bodies, is there?? Thanks

In pre '66 B-bodies the engine was a couple of inches further front than in the later models. Therefore the headers are different.

Wink Re.headers

Thank you very much H_Tolley!! I went to the website and sad to find they don't list a header for my old obsolete 65 coronet 500, so now at least I know that the 5903's won't fit. So beware folks if you buy from Sumitt!!!

Default Hooker Headers

I too was interested in using that Hooker Header. Hedman hedders, (for their cheaper header) list a B body header as for 66-72, however it does fit the '65 Coronet. I'm hoping that it is the same situation for HOooker.
Summit does have a liberal return policy, but I think I'll check for fitment with the guys on the '62-'65 Mopar web site and see if anyone has used the #5903 header

Exclamation

Thank you for replying to my question Dave Hench ! Just in case anyone else is interested in this information I sent a fax to Holley (which bought out Hooker) and the reply I got from them was that there is only one header they offer for a 65 B body with an r/b is part #5320 which is a race only Header and is about $600. That is too expensive and way too big of a header for what I need. I think I've decided on Heddman #78030 but it shows almost the same conflict as the Hookers in the parts books. I have a friend that has them on a 64 belvedere with a 440 so I'm sure they will fit Thanks to all and if there are any other choices please reply.
