Question

Hi I have a problem, I'm converting my 1972 Plymouth Duster from a 318 to a 360. I already solved the harmonic issue by getting one from a salvage vard, and i ordered a new torque convertor with the 360 balance weight, but now I don't know which way the weight should go, can anyone help me Please??????

Thank you

I am not clear on what you are asking. If you ordered a 360 converter - the weight should already be welded to it.

If memory serves me correctly............the flex plate is drilled to bolt on one way only. The torque converter will only bolt on one way also.

On the flex plate you will see that a small hole is drilled near the flange bolts. This hole should be lined up 180 degrees away from the drain plug on the converter.

I guess I should have been more explanatory, the weight is already on the torque convertor, but the flexplate will bolt to the converter two ways i just needed to know which way was correct,
Thanks

It should only bolt on one way, unless you are flipping the flexplate over the wrong way!

Exclamation thanks

Hey thanks I feel like a total dumbass but now that I look at things closer it does only bolt on one way, but hey better safe than sorry, I would have hated to have done all this work and had a car that clunked like and unbalanced washing machine, but I do appreciate the advice even though it was a stupid question

Make sure you mark the convertor and flex plate with a spot of white paint after you get them indexed. If you ever have to pull the tranny out without the engine, you'll be really glad you did...
