The speedometer just started wacking out in my 69 Plymouth Sport Satellite. It has the idiot lights and no tach. I checked the cable and everything was fine right up to the speedometer. I need the speedometer head but don't want to replace the entire cluster. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where to find a speedo head. If I need to replace the entire cluster does anybdoy have any sources from that.

Many thanks,
Chris

If the speedo is bouncing off of the pegs at low speed and then bouncing closer to the correct speed as you get faster, then the bell has warped. You should be able to open the speedo and see the warp and gently bend it back to round, with your hands.

I've fixed a couple of speedos this way. It's alot cheaper and easier than finding a new speedo.

If the bell isn't warped, you may have a problem with the speedo pinion gear, in the tranny.
