locked out distributer

I know alot of racers run with there distributers locked in at max. advance.My question is will this work on a street/strip application?I just put in a MSD Digital 6 and it comes with a provision for 20 degree retard for startups.One of the reasons for doing this is to help get rid of a bog that comes in sometimes when the tires hook solid on launch.The car is a 68 Dart,440,Ultradyne 251@.050 570 lift.9.7 CR.850 Speedemon on a Torker2.Emerald 9.5" Brute converter that flashes at 4200.2100 rpm launch,1100 idle 900 in gear.4.10 gears and Mccreary G-60-15's.Still trying to get things sorted out.1.8 60' 12.4@108 on a 85 degree day.BTW running no vacuum advance.Race weight is 3685 pounds.
