I am converting a 318/904 73 Road Runner to stroker 451 with a 4 speed. The problem I am having is with the clutch linkage. It is the over center spring, the large one hooked to the clutch pedal at one end and the other to a stationary mount point near the firewall. Question, are the coils closer to the firewall or the dash? If anyone out there with a 73/74 Dodge or Plymouth b-body could provide the information on how to sort this out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Vince,

Depending on what clutch you use, you may not need that spring. Ask the mfg of the clutch you are going to use.

I had to remove it from my '71 Challenger when I put the Centerforce in.

Thumbs up

Art,

The information you have provided has resolved one problem. Have you ever seen or heard of an adjustable clutch pedal to Z-bar rod. The service manual clearly indicates/displays what appears to be an adjustable piece. The reason I ask is there is quite a bit of play from the point where the throughout bearing is fully retracted where the actual clutch pedal does have some travel remaining before coming ot rest at the stop in the brake/clutch pedal frame assembly. Again thanks for your information.

Before we go any further, what clutch are you using?
