I saw that very thing happen last night. I had just pulled up the a stoplight, first car in line was a state trooper, next was a beat up Escort, and 3rd was me and my kids in the minivan, Dodge (Mopar) of course. When the light turned green, the trooper turned right, while the guy ahead of me and myself, went straight. When all of a sudden, the guy in the Escort hit the gas. The Escort, which apparently had no muffler, let out the loudest annoying "BRAAAAAZZZZZZZZZ" sound I've heard in awhile. Nothing sounds worse then a stock 4 banger with a bad exhaust. Anyway, I don't how the trooper did it, he teleported or leaped over the buildings downtown, and had that Escort pulled over by the next red light. I was just amazed by the stupidity of it all, I can remember plenty of times featherfooting my old cars cause they had bad exhaust, and this guy just lays into the throttle not 10 feet from a police cruiser who was in front of him. Some folks just don't know when to chill out, has anyone else seen some Darwin Award winners, get it?

I've had them save my tail feathers, on occasion.

One night, I was doing about 70 in a 55, when I picked up a cop. I could see his headlights gaining on me, but he hadn't turned on the flashers yet. I started slowing down, when I came up on on older Chevy pickup with no taillights. I moved around him. The cop turned on his flashers and pulled over the Chevy

1997 - Driving a 1981 Caddilac Fleetwood with 500ci engine no muffler (NOT MY CAR) Had to pass by a cop and I actually put it in neutral shut off the engine and rolled by him That car had some balls with EFI and all but it was way too loud. Only drove it one day.

2000 - Driving my girlfriends Dodge Shadow on a double lane 10mph over the limit. I knew I was coming to an access road where cops sat but I hadn't seen one there in months but something told me to slow down anyway to about 5 over. Just as I do a black dodge ram goes flying by and then I see a cop coming up on me real fast. I pull over thinking he got me going a little over and he flys by and gets the pickup!! Lucky me.
