After milling it around in my head ( no pun intended ), I did manage to find the article that was in question.
I went through it all, and it came back to me.

The motor was indeed a cheap build, and three wacks at the track with Jim Hales' car, it went 11.50's right out of the dyno room.

I think that I'd be better off and start with the better components ie: Ross, or JE, etc. That way I only have to bore it out .30 VS. .50.
