Question

Labor wise how much are we talking for a pro-street back-half kit on a `69 B-Body? I have Alston here in my backyard,go there or can a local shop do this kind of work? Pros and cons from any of you that have done this please - thanks - c ya

After doing the job myself, I can tell you it's A LOT of work, and A LOT of time! Don't forget, you must also install an 8 point cage, minimum. If I had to pay someone to do it all, I'd say AT LEAST $6,000. You've got tin work, wheel tubs, brake lines, axle, tires/wheels. It adds up, real fast.

a well setup leaf spring chassis can push a car to 10s..if you need more, get the cage/4 link and wheel tubs

If you are going to do it, do it right and go with the pro's at Alston.

I have seen alot of what they have done and the quality cannot be compared.

Angry $6000 IN LABOR!?

Well if thats anywhere near right its not for me.This is just to run on the street and maybe a time or two at the strip but not a racecar by anymeans.Just wanted the badass look to go with the 392 but shit for that kind of money i could buy a racecar less motor/trans.Cage,frame.ladder bars, tubs, shocks etc run about $2500 i thought $1500 range for welding it up but $6000 shit.....Alston is going to give me an estiment we'll see what it is. Thanks guys anyway - c ya

If it is going to stay a street car with some strip use, I wouldn't do it. That is unless you really like the look that much.

I installed a MP rear spring relocation kit in my 69 Bee. Inner wheelhouse modification is required. The rubber I have under the rear is 29x15.5x15 Mickey Thompson sportmans. And the car sits with the rubber inside.
