I am real close to starting my 440 in the dart. I have not had this motor running in about 3 years ( too long of a story).
I have put new bearings, work into the heads, etc, etc, but one thing that does concern me is my new igniiton system. I have a brand new MP vacuum advance dist., Accel 8.8's, and a new MSD 6al. Is it any different starting the car with this igniton system?. I will be priming said motor first, but I am a little leary on the start up. Should the distributor be 'phased in' P.S. What is that? The whole car has been re-wired with a painless wiring fuseblock, that we mounted in the trunk. We have power to everything, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks, Bryan Friends Don't Drive Friends Mopars Into TREES, GIRLS DO!!! |

Start it up as normal. Tune it up as you use it for best performance. Nothing special goin on.
As far as phasing, it has to do with the rotor and its placement when fireing the plug. Not sure how to describe this. Its been a while. Let me go look at a book. I'll be back later on this. LOL By that time, you might be answered by someone else. |
