How do you know when the converter is in all the way? i have the motor out and i cant seem to get the converter in all the way. (i may be stupid but i should be able to do this) please help

Joe, I saw my trans guy install mine. He Primed the comverter first (Filled it with fluid) he slipped it on the shaft, then turned it counterclockwise while pushing until it all of a sudden slipped in about 3/8" more then he spun it around clockwise while pushing untill it all of a sudden went in again. That is all the way. Good luck!

If you think the converter is all the way in, lay a straight edge across the bell housing mounting face. The converter to flex plate mounting lugs should be about ½"-¾" away from the straight edge. If you can't get the straight edge to clear the mounting lugs, the converter isn't fully seated.
