B-Body Exhaust

I just put exhaust on my car. WTF is up w/ the frame rail hump for the driver's side pipe being to the right of the collector? Anyway, I got around it, but I'm not happy with the bends to get around it.
What have you guys done, if anything?

Also, I'm considering building an X-pipe to counter this. Have any of you guys seen or done this yourselves?

Basically I just cut and paste some mandrel bent tubing of the approiate size and route the pipe as best as I can. Kind of a pain in the ass to be sure.
Building a '66 Belvedere 11 myself. Its gonna see a 496.
