Shark, try usbodysource.com they may have what you are looking for depending on how high of a scoop you need.I bought a lightweight from them and a 5" tall 6pack scoop from vfnfiberglass and made a hood for my car.good luck.

I also have a light wieght hood from U.S.Body Source. My scoop is a downsized 68 SS scoop from Anderson Ind. that I installed myself.

I have bought several parts from US Body Source - they were packed correctly and were of excellent quality - I can not say the same about parts from one of the CA companies....

Thumbs down

I received two fenders for my 69 Barracuda yesterday from US body source, and to put it bluntly, they are junk.

They were package poorly, which allowed one to crack. The edges are in bad shape, and they have pin holes all through them.

And I haven't even tried fitting them to the car yet!

My experience with U.S.Body has been excellent.Tom,I'd call them pronto as this is not typical of their product or customer satisfaction.

I've emailed US body twice since receiving them, with no response.

I'll be out of town this week, but the guy doing the body work will try to see how they fit the car.

By his estimate, it will take 20 hours of work on each to make them usable. I expected them to need some work, but I don't think 20 hours each is acceptable.

He's been a body man for 22 years, so I'm sure his estimate is pretty close.

Question

US Body is the only place I have found that makes fenders for a 69 Barracuda. Do you know of anyone else that does?

[QUOTE]Originally posted by ram1500:

If it takes all that work to make the fenders usable, you would be better off sending them back to U.S. Body for a refund and order the fenders from someone else.

I ordered a six pack hood from usbodysource in 1996 and have nothig but good things to say about them. I actually drove directally over the scoop with the car (not on purpose) and all it did was crack the small piece in the center near the opening. Very nice quality!

Answer for prostock:
I bought rear fenders for my 69 barracuda and they were from tiwan and were a poor fit. I belive your estimate of 20 hours each.By the way my fenders were advertised as "high quality" from a advertising dodge dealer in the mopar mags.

I can understand "rear fenders" (quarter panels) needing 20 hours. They must be cut and welded.

No way should fenders take 20 hours of prep just to bolt fenders on.

I sent them back today, and have pictures of how poorly they fit to get developed to send to them.

Try AAR reproductions in FLA.
They made me a flat 68 cuda bolt on hood. The quality is comparable to Harwood (who doesn't make squat for mopars ) and the price was very reasonable. As far as I know they only do Mopar.

I think I talked to them at the 'Nats and Carlisle last year, and they didn't make A body Barracuda fenders.

Unlimited Products has the six-pck hood for $240 and it bolts to factory hinges.(no front latch)
I just received my hood and front bumper for a 74 duster. The hood bolted on perfect.I barely had to adjust fenders to get straight lines. They are by far the cheapest fiberglass I have found and I am pleased with it. Only problem for me was the long lead time, six weeks. www.up22.com

Prostock,
Did they tell you they will refund the freight both ways "if they don't fit the mold jig"? Thats the story I got by some chick, then the a-----e "expert" told me "they are perfect...you're the only person to complain in a long time". I suspect you need to get ready to eat freight both ways like I had to for the junk I purchased in good faith. Unlimited?...I wouldn't put that crap on a figure 8 car. I have one of their hoods and it was really bad too....I was just younger and ready to accept this was as good as it gets. Post if you find any GOOD, HIGH QUALITY, HONEST, glass manufacturers. So far I haven't. Sorry to rant, you're post brought it all back. Leigh.

Leigh,

For some reason, US Body sent the fenders with the shipping pre paid, even though they said I would have to pay the shipping on arrival.

I will be emailing them pictures tomorrow of what the fenders looked like on the car. I'll post whether they decide to eat what it cost me to ship them back ($105.00)

stay away from Unlimited unless you want to spend HOURS getting the hood to fit right!!! I thought I was getting a good deal but all I got was a new project(getting the hood to fit) It took over 10 hours reshaping the hood to get it to fit and look good. STAY AWAY FROM UNLIMITED!!!!!!!!!!

Im gonna give you my opinions from what Ive heard in the past. U.S.Body Source-junk, Unlimited Products-junk, this is what I have heard and not from experience. Now excellent companies worth checking out as these companies build also for Pro Stock cars, etc... Glasstek near Chicago (630)978-9897, VFN also near Chicago (630)543-0232, also the aforementioned AAR Fiberglass in Florida at (407)638-0961, there was also one mentioned that was WS Racing in Ohio that would be worth a call. Just my opinions and what I have heard.

I wrote AAR for a 69 Coronet 6 pack hood as I didnt see one listed. They said "We are just finishing the lift off mold now. We should have the bolt on
available towards the end of October.
Thanks! "
AAR

I'm looking for bolt on myself. Year one only had lift offs. Anyone got a good source for bolt on other than Us and UP22 not already posted in this forum?

Default six pack hood

hay check ebay or yahoo I have seen some hoods for sell.A friend bought a six pack hood for his challenger hood was perfect except one thing ,when we installed it and drilling holes and got ready to install it the hood was about 1/2 inch to short my friend was upset and put his old hood back on. I think he bought it from up north forgot the seller name . so make sure you measure . very important!!!!!!! if car was ever dameged in front end some body shop will not have front end correct so measure from right corner to left corner and left to right corner to get . then top to bottom if you have chrome piece like the challenger you have to minus the chrome just measure the hood .

Give AAR fiberglass out of Florida a call. They have the best quailty hoods i've seen. The under side is even done up nice. I just got one foe a 72 dart withthe Six pack scoop built in and it bolts on perfectly. Very strong, all you have to do is sand lightly and paint.

Would you happen to know if they service the 73-76 Dusters? I'm thinking about a 5" Pro Street Snorkel but nobody seems to have it for the "beak" style Dusters.

Default 'Glass

Call Walt Saari at WS Fiberglass. They have a website also. Walt was the only one I could find for a fiberglass dash for my Demon. Not only that he personally e-mailed me AND also called me on the phone.Great price too. Bob Reed uses the products on his cars.
