The future for the new '01 Stratus looks good. It has a terrific body style, and comes with a 2.4-liter/150-horsepower DOHC four-cylinder engine, OR a
2.7-liter/200-horsepower DOHC V6. Since dodge doesn't have its' new Charger out yet, I think this would be the closest thing(except the Neon) to racing other imports and rivals. They really need to come out with the Charger or some other kind of $25-$30+K Muscle car that Dodge enthusiasts can afford to compete with the others (Trans Am, Camaro). The Viper would definitely destroy any other car, but it's too expensive for the everyday enthusiast. It's their flagship car, like Chevy's Corvette, but Chevy has a less expensive Muscle car to offer, Dodge does not (yet?) |

Yes, its a nice looking machine, the new Stratus that is. Unfortunatly its all show and little go. I followed Car and Driver testing it last week. He saw my Intrepid R/T and had a chat in the parking lot in Troy. He told me the Stratus handles nice but the 2000 Intrepid R/T is was quicker.
Its also a DSM product, a rebadged Eclipse. We need the CHARGER, but no good news on that front either. Steve |
