Can you get rid of the C-clips on an 8 1/4 rearend by using 8 3/4 axle tube ends and bearings on 8 1/4 shafts?
thanks for any insight |

Sounds like more trouble than its worth. Just get a 8 3/4 rear to fit. I guess if you took the time to re-engineer the axle tubes, you could do whatever ya wanted to do.
The trouble you go through, you could have it done in a quick swap, instead of twisting your brain on making things fit. Look at the ends of the axle. 2 differant sizes. You would have to bring it to a shop to be resized and splined. What about length? Then welding on somthing from a good rear to a small, weaker rear. Sounds like a 2step backwards move. |
