Question

I have a 66 dodge polara, mostly stock 383 (rebuilt and bored .30), mallory electronic egnition with an msd blaster coil, 383 6pack cam, edlbrock 383 performer intake manifold, edlbrock 4300 series 600cfm. carb, and I also had the heads rebuilt and 727 tranny. The exhaust is flowmaster headers and muflers and everything sounds and looks great! Now I want it to go faster and still have the highway drivability. Maybe turn a 14 or 15 in the 1/4 mile. Maybe smoke a rice burner or two while Im at it.
Im looking at changing the rear gears, cam, and carb...but Id like to know what set up would get me
to the 14's, and still be daily driven (that's the trick to it all).
Please reply with any suggestions you have..
Thanks,
a rookie in SanAntonio

Hemi stall conv.(let me know if you need one) a rebuilt 750 cfm Ebrock(cheap and decent performance w/ good gas mileage) and either a Hughes 3038 cam or on the cheap, run a 284/474 MP Purple Shaft or Comp 270H Magnum cam. Change to 3.73-3.91s and you should be good. How heavy is that car? say it has 4100 lb race weight, I think you will be low 14s easy.
