I can't figure this one out.

A while back I was hunting for a new aluminum rim for my '95 Dodge Intrepid ES. I priced it at the dealer. $495. I priced it at a salvage yard, $200, but they only had ones with the gold color... Right now I still have the same rim with only 4 lug holes (5th got melted...don't ask).

So today I pick up a Mopar "Accessories" catalogue from the dealership, and they advertise rims. A set of 16" rims for the 2001 Dodge Stratus are $960 for ALL FOUR. Why is it that the rims for my car cost $500 a piece, but 4 new ones of equal size, GENUINE MOPAR cost less than a grand? Is it because they don't make my rims any more and have a limited supply?

I'm tempted to call up and price the rims they put on the Intrepid R/T's...They'd look sweet on my Platinum '95 ES.
With my luck they're probably $1000 a piece.

What I need is a passenger side rim, the aluminum "premium" rim that was offered on the Intrepids until 1996 I believe... Just about every ES model had them. Cheapest I've found them available for was $200 at the wrecking yard, but so far haven't found the silver ones...only the gold ones.
