Question

Is it possable to put two 1/2" fuel lines into a E-body sending unit? Also does anyone know if I can use the Russell fuel return fittings in a stock tank? I don't want to install a fuel cell but want the large lines for engine and NOS setup. Gives some room to expand later..

I was thinking of doing this last year to my A-body tank but ended up installing a sump with 2 #10 AN outs. The stock sending units have room for 1 1/2 inch but it is difficult to seal aluminium to steel. I used the 3/8 steel sending unit tube I installed years ago as my return line.

Do you weld the sump to the back or to the front of the tank?

Default SUMP

It is allways weded to the rearmost part of the tank and also where it is lower than the rest of the tank so that you get all of the fuel to it. There is also a baffle in the sump so when you slam the brakes the fuel dose not slosh to the front and uncover the fittings. My baffle is just some 1 inch holes drilled in the tank inside of where the sump will be welded. Most sumps that you buy from a speed shop will have instructions for doing this.
