I know, running a fan shroud is a must. But finding one that will work is quite another thing. I replaced the 2 core OEM radiator in my '69 Coronet with a 3 core replacement from AutoZone. I upgraded from the 318 power to a modified 383. The replacement radiator is made by Modine and has 6 mounting lugs on the shroud side that are evenly spaced. I tried Year One for a shroud but no good. Does anyone have an idea what shroud would fit this radiator? |

Your best bet is probably going to be to make one. I've done them before on engine swap's. I try to get one that fits the stock application the radiator is from and then modify it to fit the engine.
If nothing else get some sheetmetal, sharp cutting tool, hammer, something round that is about the same diameter that you need (to help form the curve) and a sharp 90 degree edge to form flanges from (the edge of work bench works good). Try making it out of cardboard to get a template. It takes time, but it is very rewarding to say "I built it myself". Good luck, Jeff C. |
