I have a 1971 Dodge Challenger 340. I just put new Hedman Hedders on. My problem is everytime I go around a corner the end of the pitman arm gets caught on the driver side header. This is my second set of headers, the first one had a hole put in it by the arm. I cant afford to put another header on. Has anyone had this problem? I really am at wits end. Please help.

I think everyone with headers has had that problem. You can either heat and dimple the tube a little or you can try to move the pitman arm, but that is going to screw up the steering geometry.

I agree with the dimpling of the header tube. If you dont, then something is going to give and I guarantee it wont be when and what you want..good luck

I agree, you may have to dimple the header, but first, make sure the motor mounts are up to snuff. If the motor is slightly cocked or sagging on one side, the headers will not be positioned correctly in relationship with the chassis. Been there done that on A body A motor headers.
